Driving secrets in Chennai

For a long time Romeo thought Chennai is the worst polluted place to drive a vehicle. Now, he has changed his mind after living in Bangalore nearly a year. The result of lack of infrastructure in Bangalore redirected IT corridors to other rival cities like Chennai.
Coming back to driving lessons in Chennai; we need to know many things apart from actual normal driving. We need to understand the language of the drivers before stepping into a vehicle ride.
Let’s see one by one from Romeo's experience :

Auto rickshaw: - Let’s start with the real nightmare in Chennai roads. Residents of Chennai are widely aware how worst an Auto could be. When you are riding a bike behind an auto, then don’t look for indications in turnings. Because most of the vehicles wont be having any indicators at all. He would definitely hand signal you; but don’t worry you wont be able to see his hand actually. Only fingers (4) will be projected a little bit. If you have a good vision… you are lucky.
I forgot to tell you this; he in fact won’t show signal before 10 metres at turnings. The decision to turn left or right will be made by him only before 5 or 7 feets. Auto rickshaw, indifferent from other vehicles has outstanding turning capabilities. It can rotate to more than 90 degrees. Auto drivers use this extensively in good traffics. Two wheelers should be 1000% alert when going near an Auto.

Cyclists: They are fantastic riders who never obey rules; of course none is going to ask driving license to them !! The possibility of extensive rotation & brakes annoy riders behind them. They don’t care to go in corner of the roads rather would go in the lane for 2 wheelers. You can often witness a cycle clash with any vehicle on the road.

Pedestrians: Yes, believe me I was also a victim of a sudden turning pedestrian. There are no footpaths available sufficiently (other than main roads). Also majority of the streets are very narrow. People in Chennai always cross (some times even they run across) the roads at any place any time without even looking on either of the sides. Usually you can see people staring a name boards or thinking some where (like a scientist in the labs) in the middle of the roads. If you are smart and well trained in Chennai roads you can actually compute from their dressings, body language, eyes & foot directions where can they probably head next step.

Lorry: Lorries, the real breath takers can be found only in outer areas. If you are in national Highway you can always witness a lorry impacting with any vehicle. In Indian myth we can call a lorry driver as “Yama Dharma raja”, the one who is responsible for taking lives/souls to Hell/Heaven just like St.Peter in Christian belief.

Buses: Bus drivers are the most dexterous persons in the city. They know all kinds of vehicle drivers very well & their driving language. I always like watching them drive in front seats. Its amazing to see them driving only inches gap between any vehicles.

Two Wheelers: You need more learning here. Determining the age of the person, depends how speed they could go or turn. For all these you have a lot of time like some milli-seconds. They won’t care to change the lanes at any time without watching the rear mirror. Female drivers are considered the most dangerous riders; they can literally show us the “The Highway to Hell” song in realty.

What Prayers really do

I am not going to deal with religious philosophies behind prayers or even any of its preaching.
My article would be on ‘What prayer does’ instead ‘why do we need prayers’

Because we prayed, the problems are solved; we believe problems won't arise because we prayed. Prayer results in the belief that we can solve the problem; that's otherwise called confidence.
Confusing?.. continue reading to get cleared.

Swami Vivekananda, a great saint said – “We become what we think ”.That means the recursive thinking of something would become a part of our life in reality.
This quote had been one of the prime factors for many successful persons in life. They reached or obtained their life-goals by constantly involving in it. It’s like a meditation or devotion for all of them.

Normal human could read anything only word by word as a whole. Vivekananda had interesting reading habit. He would read the entire line in one instance, which means he can read line-by-line. This behavior would have been obtained by high concentration and devoted involvement and the belief that he can do it.

World number one Tennis player would think only about the services, aces and sets to take over, a Wrestler with leg movements, balances and punches, a Cricket player with direction of the ball, its speed and the stroke's direction, a F1 racer with command able turnings and pit-falls, a Painter with his brush strokes, background; foregrounds varied color intensities, a Business man with many factors likewise all number ones in their respective sports/businessess would constantly feel the absolute path towards their goal.
Similarly, basic part of prayer is faith. The faith you have within you and the belief to become what you think paves the way to the result of the prayer or the ultimate goal itself.

Mentally Bankrupt

Romeo's Diary - Dated : Dec 2005...

I am on a phase where only few felt or gone through. Thank god if
its only few.I am practically no man now as given by definitions of society.
I have no JOB, no money, no girl, etc.., (as u can fill it) practically i am bankrupt
What I ve is a peaceful mind and support from family & friends. I ve my past records to depend on.. I should say this ,.. my confidence level was very low when i failed 4 times in getting a F1-VISA to United States Of America.
You know i ve this feeling that i would certainly become someone other than I think what I am !!!. Think, foolish, am I?

Mom- The wonder woman

Unsurprisingly I enjoy a great deal of love from my mom than my siblings. I call her with many pet names like Cat, Ant, Teacher (really History teacher in my own school then) and Monkey when in angry.
I call her:
Cat Because: She is cute, pretty, and innocent. Like cats escapism (avoiding unnecessary encounters) is naturally present in her. Cat is very protective creature when it comes to its newly born kittens. Cats take too many liberties from their owners. All these characters are possessed by my mom.

Ant Because: She is very hard working. She would cook for all five of us (dad, herself, 2 sisters, and me) early morning and get us ready for the school. All these should be done quickly before 8 or 8:30 am. Sometimes my sister would help her in doing house chores. Dad would deal with all things outside jobs like typical Indian family head. My mom should also get ready for her teaching lessons. She would awake nearly at 4:30 or 5 am and sleep late at night.

Monkey, Whenever she scolds me or doesn’t listen to me. Only I have the access to call her like that in my entire family.

Teacher Because: She taught me innumerable things in all my life. Best one is making me member of district library at my 5th grade. It was just opposite to my school gates. I would spend most of the times in the library reading books.
At first I was interested in reading fairy tales, story books; comics (Tin Tin, Spiderman, superman, etc…) like all kids. Later I developed interests towards biographies of great men, encyclopedia, great novels that took me another level
She joined me to summer coaching classes and even GYM.

About love

"The pleasure of LOVE lasts but a moment,
the pain of love lasts a lifetime ...."

TAXI NO: 9211

Nice one... I liked Hindi version than English - Changing Lanes (2002)... With John Ab & nana, it was a good movie to watch.

Immature Act and Inspirational sisters:

Upto my early teenage I was very mischievous, immature, careless and pompous like most at that age. I remember once I slapped my elder sister (lav) in public place in front of all of her friends when were waiting for a showoutside a theatre.

I don’t remember why I hit her then. But it’s my luck that my sisters are far mature, understandable and lovable. They would forgive me for everything roguishly done by me.
My eldest sister, Yogi was my mentor and guide all the time. She inspired me in many ways. She is hard working, steadfast, intelligent and understandable. She got state marks in her SSLC an HSC, task nobody achieved in our family.

Yogi always supported me whenever my dad criticized me. After 12th grade she asked me to select IT stream in my engineering. It was one of the finest decisions that turned my life. After graduation, she suggested me to take GRE and apply for MS in USA. Since she did her Master’s in Southern Illinois university(US), her experience helped me in analyzing and selecting the best universities for me.

Avenger : The Mean Machine

Avenger has similar features to those of HARLEY's and HONDA's. My nostalgia to see a bike which resembles Harley's on the Indian roads nearly attained now, after the failures of Eliminators.
This new cruiser(Indianised meaning) is hitting well in the markets also.
Other stuffs for Bike lovers:
Its a 4 - stroke DTSI(Digital Twin Spark Ignition), 5 Speed, 180 - cc, 16.5 bhp, wheelbaseof 1475 mm makes it a big difference among others, thus supporting a highly stable turnings at even 40 kmph.
It is equipped with exhaust TEC (Torque Expansion Chamber),..
Now, I really dont know what TEC does for !! should ask my friend ragavendra, working in Lucas TVS who knows about auto mobile parts better than me.

Betrayal of a friend- a story

During college days Romeo's friends and acquaintances thought him as a cool, non-emotional, witty and a prankster kid. As he don’t believe in too much emotional bonds and basically never had good idea about “LOVE” on those days. May be he haven’t met the right one or he was afraid of the word “Breakup” or may be he was not interested in long term relationships. Later when he met the right person he realized he was wrong but that’s another story.

This cool boy image had its impact on him by the betrayal of his own friend. Yes, the right word is “betrayal”. His friend Mr.Y (don’t ask the name; he too may be reading it some time) loved someone who is also a friend to Romeo, (Ms.G2). Mr. Y was afraid to tell him about this affair. (Not long he came to know that she rejected him). As both spent a lot of time with each other every day, Mr.Y knows it very well that romeo thinks love is a hormonal game played at that age.

Mr.Y could have convinced romeo that his love is not just outcome of chemical reactions. He won’t be reacting hardly to him, rather would have understood his feeling for her. At least why are the friends for, if you think they can’t understand you? he can’t blame him alone; he too was very casual always.
