In Loving memory of my father - II

Romeo always argued with his dad for being more inclined towards his eldest sister. Sometimes it irritated him. She was special to him until last few years of his life. Romeo won over her at last, alas an unclaimed victory. Romeo came to know about his dad’s love towards him through his sisters. Dad would call them and told stories about my achievement. Never once he recognized in front of Romeo.

Once dad attended my college day function while returning home his hands were full with the prizes I won in different events. He couldn’t even carry them properly. I saw a satisfying happiness through his eyes. He thought me to ride the bikes. We planned on many occasions for swimming but it dint happen. Not to mention how strict he was when I was at my teenage. He used to beat me in several occasions. Every passed time had a meaning in itself. Time tells and justifies all the stories happened in our life time.

Whenever I would express my views, dreams he would quietly listen and ask me what I have done so far for that and what the use of it. Say for example I would tell him this is the price of a race bike or Harley Davidson which I will own one day he would in return ask me what will I do after owning it? These are few questions he has thrown at me with great thought which provoked me to think better every time. The questions would either shrink your thoughts or it will provoke you in a new way. I choose later. I choose to be unique in my style because of the fear of my dad’s mockery. I would be amazed when he comments/reviews on my success. He would easily compare my ideas with the existing one as that of a top level management professional. On my failures he would ask how the winner came up with flying colors and what was I lacking? With his ordinary government office experience he will smash your way of thinking in seconds. I don’t know whether every dad has the same way of giving lessons to their kids but I will pass it to my next generation. Hoping they might also choose the later on like me.
